Public hearing to consider the Planning Commission’s May 23, 2019, 4-0, 1-absent recommendation to the Nevada County Board of Supervisors, to adopt a Resolution approving the proposed Negative Declaration (EIS19-0001), prepared in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the proposed amendments to the Nevada County General Plan, Chapter 8, Housing Element; and to adopt a Resolution approving the revisions to the Nevada County General Plan, Chapter 8, Housing Element (GPT19-0001) that was previously adopted by Nevada County in 2014. State Housing Element Law (Government Code Section 65580 (et.seq.)) mandates that local governments must adequately plan to meet the existing and projected housing needs of all economic segments of the community. Upon its adoption, the 2019-2027 Housing Element will become part of the Nevada County General Plan.
